Cliff Richard and the Shadows (which were essentially an electrical guitar band) with “Living Doll”, was England’s answer to Elvis Presley at the time. Sadly Cliff didn´t build it huge in America, however he's still musically active and release records album in England at the ripe age of eighty.

In the early 60´s people of the world witnessed the beginning of what was to be known as “The Swinging 60´s” or generally “The Golden Age of Rock and Roll”. Anyone knows that the most famous and important Band was The Beatles who once they played couldn't even hear themselves due to the screaming ladies, and poor P.A. systems.
The Beatles were the primary British artist´s to create it huge within the U.S.A.; they were distinctive then as they wrote most of the song´s that they performed, and if truth be told they modified music, and therefore the rules of the music we all hear these days.

Together they wrote and work and the tune “I Wanna Be Your Man” that became the primary hit record for the Rolling Stones, who also have big success in America. Until the present day, The Rolling Stones still perform sellout concerts and active in musical scene, even at their age.

In the late 60´s-early 70´s popularity of Glam Rock rised after some years of the psychedelic era, and there are bands and solo artists like Jefferson Airplane, T Rex, Jimmy Hendrix and David Bowie. The fashion of guitar taking part in became a lot of aggressive as the birth of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal as rock sub genres, in this very genre, there's top group names like Van Halen, AC/DC, Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin.

Rock and Roll music will continue to entertain us in some type or another for a protracted time nevertheless, and folks can still be influenced by it, and can still purchase records and learn to play guitar, whichever form of music they like better to play, it's all connected anyway.
At the end of it, we'll see that Rock Guitar is always be found as combinations of Blues, Country Guitar music, and sometimes we also 'smell' a mix of Swing and Rhythm and Blues.
